What sets Rosedale Gifted Academy (Preschool) and Rosedale Christian School apart? A lot of things!

One of the school's most distinctive features is the partnership that flourishes among students, teachers and the wider community of Rosedale (Queens), Long Island and the surrounding areas in general. RGAP and RCS (RCS) are dynamic, world-class schools which have their roots in Rosedale Queens, New York. We offer a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for entry to highly selective high schools and then on to some of the most outstanding and prestigeous middle schools, high schools and eventual universities to pursue challenging careers. This is our focus as we daily give our best to prepare students for higher education. Through programs emphasizing self-discipline and community service, each student learns personal and social responsibility. We encourage our students to exercise leadership that is God-centered, compassionate, democratic and tolerant. All students are welcome - regardless of religion, race, sex, social standing, or cultural background. So, what sets us apart?

¶ What sets us apart from the general school systems? The reasons are clear. Last school year, we had a 100% passing rate in the NYS Board of Ed ELA,      Math, Science and Social Studies exams - What an achievement! We teach two levels above the public schools and we are known as outstanding for our      academic stride

—   Our educational philosophy and  teaching methods.  We recognize and believe that all children are gifted in their own unique ways; they and are        special and wonderfully made. They are complexed and diversed, and are on a unique developmental cycle.     Therefore, we nurture and educate        them in a way that unlocks their special qualities.

—   We begin with a deep respect for each child as a unique individual. We work from inside out - a deep concern for  each student  spiritual, social and        emotional development, because there is far more to an education than mastering  facts.

—   Our classrooms are clean, airy, brightly lit, fresh, educaitonally and motivationally decorated, educationally challenging and an exciting        environments for learning.

—    Learning is not focused on drills and memorization but on deeply rooted formulas, methods and procedures that  show how to foundationally         comprehension what is taught and that which our students will never forget - even  later on as our students take their places in the world. Our goal         is to develop students who really understand their schoolwork.

—  Our open programs are geared towards building excellence and contributing to your children's talents and capabilities to help them to excel and be       the best they can be academically.

—  Pupil accountability - We encourage our students to have Biblical values and to live them. Students are taught accountability through living by       Biblical values.

—  Skills development - Our schools train students to be confident, competent and resourceful. The schools will     provide students with the skills - to to       help them apply knowledge to their daily lives.

—   Small Classes - Our low teachers -to-students ratio ensures personal attention to each student's needs and  allows students to reach their full        learning potential. Small student-groups are typically more cohesive, supportive of each other to work together more readily on their educational goals.

—   All of our teachers have advanced degrees. Seventy-five percent of our teachers obtained a Masters Degree and higher, and another 25% obtained        their BA in education. Teacgers are NYS licenced, CPR and First Aid trained. They are friendly and compassionate - eager to teach and they take their        students academic achievement seriously.

—   We follow the ABeka, Bob Jones University and MGraw Hill curriculum, however, we also use research-based strategies for teaching, supplementary        to other teaching materials. This means we use teaching methods that have been proven to be effective.

—   We use advanced technologies in the learning experience. Our schools have Internet connection and Whiteboard and Smartboard accessibility. Our        students are exposed to computer programs. Teachers and students use interactive technology. We have a goal of improving year by year our facilities        to make it the best possible for our students. Our teachers particiapte in quarterly staff development programs set by the Govt. and the schools to keep       them current in the educational industry.
