Welcome - RCGS's Before- After School High Achievement Club

Our Before and After-School High-Achievement-Club is a place where school age students can complete their daily homework at a high level.

The program begins every day (Monday through Friday) - Before school begins at 7:00 AM and our After-school program begins at 3:00 PM and is open until 6:00 PM. By majority demand, we are considering an extension of this program which means afterschool extended care until 7:00 PM. Students arrive straight from school and are provided with a short break time and a snack.

Students in our after-school program are snacked and offered assistance with homework assignments. Homework is done and checked.

How It Works

3:30                     Students arrive at RGAP or RCGS after a busy day in the classroom. Your child takes                             some time to unwind by playing a memory game with friends, etc.
3:30 - 4:00           Your child is offered a nutritious snack and refreshed, ready to start Homework
4:10 p.m.              Your child and his classmates pull out their books, ready to conquer some Homework.                              Teachers sit down to offer support and help with questions.
5:10 - 6:00 p.m.    Homework is complete and it's time to go. What a nice, worry-free day!

Now That Homework is over... can do we do next... How about some computer? A game of Chess, Work on our Reading Bookclub)?

Our Before-Afterschool program provides the perfect combination of recreational and educational activities for a well-balanced out-of-school experience. Children end each day excited about the broad range of engaging, hands-on activities that allow them to develop their interests and skills, as well as having the opportunity to spend time on homework so that they can enjoy more quality time at home.

By 3:30 PM, students are separated and go to their rooms with the After School Teachers. Homework is a priority in all classrooms, and teachers work hard to make sure all assignments are completed and also guide the students to correct their own errors.

There is never a dull moment at our Before-After-school program. After homework, our afterschoolers are given the opportunity to either unwind with our fun yet educational computer games, play a educational game with friends, read a book or join in our Physical Educational program. Our educational games include computer typing games, figure-typing games and other educational games to stimulate yet challenge their minds. Our afterschoolers call this fun while learning.

The Before and After School Program incorporates:
Physical Activity Time - Children play on our playground or, if the weather is uncooperative, enjoy games or songs inside. It's time spent giving their bodies what they need, while connecting with friends to talk about their day at school.

Group Meeting Time - The children gather together to foster a sense of community. Each child shares a positive experience from their day, which gives our teachers the opportunity to get to know your child, respond to their varying needs and adapt the program to fit their interests.

Homework/Quiet Time - Adequate time is provides for homework completion. If your child doesn't have homework, she may participate in a constructive, quiet activity, such as leisure reading, puzzle construction or completion of an art-inspired activity supplementary to our computer educational games outlined above.

Project Time - Children break up into workshop areas where they collaborate on various long-term projects.

Literature Circle Time or Cirlcle of Friends Reading Club - We invite our afterschoolers to read a book, a short story or literature. They are then encouraged to share their ideas about what they read. The program has several different recreational themes that are followed for several weeks depending on the interest level of the children. Additionally, we incorporate Students Character Program to help develop your child's sense of community and respect for others.

Convenient Day-Week Program - Our Convenient Day or Week Program complements your child's out of their school days. When public or other private schools are closed, we will accept your child for the day or week that he/she is out of school.
