The Role of the Advancement Division
The role of the Advancement Division is to go beyond tuition and seek further community support in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of  RGAP and RCS. There are four basic types of gifts the Advancement Division focuses on:

Annual Mandatory Fund Raiser: The Annual and every school year Mandatory Fund Raiser is the first and most important that is paid into the school system and is required by every parents whose child attend our school. This fee is mandatory with the first half paid before students' admission; and the second half paid the first of the following school year. The schools do not sell candies but request that a Mandatory Fundraiser fee of $200.00 be paid for each student.

School-Based (Fundraising) Activities: Parent volunteers are important to RCS and RGAP partnering with the PTA body have designed many ways for everyone to become involve in specific endeavors that promote distinct activities within the school. After making your Annual Mandatory Fund Raiser fee, we encourage each parent to find one or more projects that resonate with you and your child's personal interests that will generate funds to help with your child or children school in helping to fund programs that directly relate to your child or children's education. In doing so, you not only provide a positive role model to your children; but you also become a vital partner to help the school achieve you and your child's goals. Input are welcome therefore we implore all parents to be come involved in this effort.

Special Events: Special Events provide a spirited way for our community to come together and support the school. A successful special event requires lots of volunteer help, and is a key component in developing our volunteer leadership and community support. We ask of every alumnus, parent, grandparent, faculty, staff and friend of RCS and RGAP to participate by contributing a gift to your child's schools. Gifts of any size are welcomed. Gifts that are donated will be raffled to produce income to help with students' education.

Major Gifts and Capital Campaign: Such gifts are the ultimate way to have a personal impact at RCS and RGAP, and they can have advantageous tax consequences to those individuals who have the means to make a difference and create a legacy in education. The School Advancement Division can work with you and your tax advisor on bequests, charitable trusts, donor directed funds, and other tax deferred vehicles as well as to construct exceptional ways your gift or pledge can have significant and long-term impact in our school community.

The Arts!!!

RCS devoted to cultivating creative and innovative thinkers. An exceptional arts education is essential to this mission.

Where as in the past we have introduced some areas of the Arts in our programs - extensive demonstration usually displayed at our special events such as graduations, Christmas events and our annual Moving Up ceremonies. Moving forward with a more attractive well rounded program, we intend to introduce on a wider spectrum more involvement in the Arts.

For the new school year, 2012-2013, we will be widening our scopes in the Arts as part of our curriculum. We will be including: School Band, Praise Dances, and also reintroduce the Aquatics and Drama. Where as in the past these were only done at events, going forward, these will be done on a weekly basis. Parents are encourage to have students participate in these new introductions. Please bear in mind that some of these programs are Paid Into by parents.

Music, drawing, dance and drama are the oldest forms of creative expression and communicate the human experience directly across time, space, culture and condition. The arts, therefore, are one of the centerpieces of RCS education, and visual arts, choir, music, music band, theater and dance learning programs will stimulate creative interpretation and curiosity across all subjects as a fundamental component of our integrated curriculum. Our music teacher, Ms. Wu possesses a double Masters in music from Asia and the USA. Patient and considerate are the words that best describe her.

Music — RCS and RGAP (Preschool) have a group of talented and dedicated music teachers (Head Music teacher, Ms. Wu and Assistants) who are committed to the education, growth and development of each student. Every grade receives weekly vocal music instruction using age-appropriate, interactive and fun musical themes. Music-making at RCS and RGAP begins in Preschool with singing and age-appropriate instruments. Preschoolers perform at special events such as Moving Up events, Christmas parties and graduations. Musical experiences continue through our Upper School with choral performances and development of fundamental musical skills. Students have the opportunity to join an ensemble our music classes, regardless of their experience.

Aquatics — All students are encouraged to participate in the swimming. This life skill is vital and important. Students participate in swimming at the YMCA. Aquatic is not mandatory but is encouraged. This is a paid into program.

Praise  Dance — The RCS Praise Dance group is responsible for leading worship through dance during our annual Christmas events or any other event. Choreography dance sessions are conducted on a
weekly basis at RCS. This is a coed class and all students are encouraged to participate. The RCS dance team was created in as an outlet for dancers to use their gifts to support their school and and share the glory of God through dance. Please note that secular music are not allowed for these classes. Students usually dance to praise music. Experiences in participating in and responding to dance expand students’ movement vocabularies, enhance their listening and viewing skills, and enable them to begin thinking critically about dance as an art form. Through dance education, students also learn about cultural roots of various dance forms and how dance is expressive of cultural heritage, thus continuing to broaden their global perspective. The study of dance at RCS will promote the development of strength and coordination while stimulating self-exploration and creative potential. Students who choose to further their dance education in the upper grades will continue movement exploration with the study of technique, body awareness and choreography.

Band — In middle school, students have the opportunity to participate in instrumental music (band) or vocal music (choir). Students may also elect to participate in both ensembles. While the classes are performance based, emphasis is placed in both band and choir on learning the fundamentals of music. Lower division participate in Sheet Music, Recorder, Piano, Violin, Percussion are parts that make up our student band. Whether rehearsing, performing or just practicing, RCS students do this to the greater glory of God. Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord! (Psalm 150:6).

Choir — Weekly choir are conducted by our professional music teacher.

Broadway-Kinda-Drama Presentation — Every step of the way, teachers and students participate in a Kinda-Broadway Drama presentation. Plays are usually written from scratch and students are encourage to participate every step of the way.

By working cooperatively , students will develop communication skills and sensitivity to others. Through active participation in the theater program, students will graduate with poise, self-confidence, empathy and a deep appreciation of hard work and the pursuit of excellence. From Lower School performances bringing stories to life, to Middle School explorations of more sophisticated literature and theatrical techniques in our drama classes. Students will gain confidence and a deeper understanding of consequence and variety of perspective.

Shows are usually performed at our end of school year shows, Fifth Grade Moving-up parties and our annual A Evening With RCS Stars show at Christmas.
