Profile From it's founding to the present, our school which started as Rosedale Child Development Center has sought to live out the vision expressed by its founder. That vision is to provide the best possible education for young people. Today, that vision translates as the pilot which guides our schools: the lower division RGAP (our Preschool) and our upper division, RCS (our Kindergarten - Elementary, Grade 1 - 8). Our schools are founded on Christian principles which cultivate a curriculum that prepares students for a life of service to God first then an emphasis on strong academic achievement, and social awareness. At its core, RGAP and RCS academic vision relies on the principles: Excellence, High Academic Achievement, and Godly Balance. Over the years, RGAP and RCS have committed to balancing education with the best in time-honored academic traditions, which have resulted in outstanding academic programs. We are private co-ed schools offering a comprehensive curriculum from Pre-Kindergarten through to Elementary, Grade 1-8. The name of our Preschool is Rosedale Gifted Academy (Elementary And Preschool) RGAP; and our upper division, Rosedale Christian School (Rosedale Christian School) - RCS, serves Kindergarten - Elementary, Grade 1-8. Our
History Due to the academic high achievement and accelerated programs we offer, we were soon established and known in the area as one of the best prep schools. Students from various other schools joined our programs and we grew and expanded. The tempo picked up when our students began to shine and became super achievers. Our name became established and the demand for our school and services increased significantly. We vividly recalled the story told by one prospective parents, she shared: One of our past student's parent recommended our school to her. She drove by and thought "I was expecting to see a very huge school due to the high achievers that graduated from this school." The past student in question is also a super achiever and was accepted in one of NYS' finest gifted programs and is now heading for one of NYS' best high schools. We are proud of our students' achievements and each day we continue our quest for excellence. A
School Of Diversity - All Students Are Welcome The quality of education here is evident, and also our students' ability to live and interact with their peers. Our students are well-rounded citizens who are taught not only how to achieve academically but also how to appreciate and respect people of every race and culture. Graduates and past students are doing well in the most demanding high schools and colleges across the nation - where ever our students are placed for higher education and are able to adept and function efficiently and effectively. This is due mainly to the diverse foundation to which they were exposed to during their time with us. Not only do we have a diverse student body but also a diverse faculty and staff. Everyone is welcome to attend our schools and an open door policy is at the top of our life. Religious

Study Uniforms - School uniforms are an important part of the School's tradition. All students, from Pre-Kindergarten - Elementary Grade 1-8 are required to wear uniforms, and senior students in our Kindergarten - Elementary classes must adhere to a strict dress code. In addition, all students are required to wear gym uniforms for those days when there is PE and gym. School Colors - RCS official school colors - burgundy, white and blue (and optional pale yellow). These colors were adopted by the school since its inception. Governance - Our schools' Boards: Board of Directors (Heads of Schools), Board of Trustees and our PTA board are the sole governing body of the schools. The Boards are self-perpetuating and elect their own governing body. Some Board meetings are closed to others, although The Board of Directors does occasionally invite guests to attend portions of particular meetings . The PTA board is open to the school community and all Board members are elected by the School Board and the PTA Board officers. Our schools are privately owned and have no funding or affiliation with any Govt bodies. Our schools are incorporated but stocks are not currently sold in our corporation. All Boards work closely with the Heads of Schools, and the Heads of Schools are charged of bylaws and the day to day operation of the schools. The Heads of Schools are the chief administrators of the Schools and are in direct charge of the management and operation of the School. The Heads of Schools work closely with all Boards in developing long-range plans and in keeping the Board fully apprised of current school operations through regular and comprehensive reports and meetings. There are a variety of ways in which input from faculty, students, parents, and alumni can reach the Boards. Foremost among these are via the Heads of Schools, the PTA Committee and officers, the Alumni Body, and the Boards Standing Committees - Trustees. The school has a lawyer (legal advisor) and an MD advisor on the Board of Directors. The school board lawyer gives legal advice and legally steers the schools as it pertains to all legal matters and issues. The school MD gives medical directives and oversees to the school nurse admin. as it pertains to all medical matters. We also have honorary PTA members who are part of our Standing Committee and who also assist with planning and execution of plans as it pertains to the PTA body. Admission
