The RGAP And RCS Story

Rosedale Christian School (RCS) has an Early Childhood Program and also an Elementary - Middle School Grade 1-8 day school program. Rosedale Christian School, (RCS) is founded on a strong philosophy that follows directly from our school mission that supports youngest learners through to our advanced learners. We observe and maintain a very strong diverse school community and every student matters and is highly recognized.

We are a co-ed Christian school and do observe and uphold Christian values. We are not affiliated to a church neither do we teach doctrine. We are known for our academic stride and our names are synonymous with being the 'high achievers' schools. A 98% of our past students obtained recognition for their outstanding achievements both locally and abroad, as they obtained scholarships to some of the best prestigious high schools and colleges - both locally and internationally.

From its founding to present, our school sought to live out its vision, a vision expressed by its founder. That vision is to provide the best possible education for the next generation. The vision translates as the pilot for our lower division and also for our upper division.

Our school which started out under the school name Rosedale Child Development Center - (RCDC) has been a of member of the Rosedale community since 1996. Since that time, we have incorporated and moved to a larger facility and have adopted our new names to distinctly separate our lower division from the upper division.

The lower division (Rosedale Gifted Academy (Preschool) accepts students age 3 and up and Rosedale Christian School accommodates Elementary-Middle School students. With the new offerings came the great demand for our services and through a large retention of our students, RCS is now expand to three facilities - Preschool, Kindergarten and Elementary-Middle School, Grade 1-8.

Elementary - Middle School is located at 247-11 Francis Lewis Blvd., Kindergarten is located at 243-10 Merrick Blvd. and the Preschool location - 133-55 242nd Street, all locations: Rosedale, Queens, NY.

Our programs usually maintain a medium student-to-teacher ratio, and our exceptional teachers have depth of experience and training.

We follow three curriculums: The ABeka, the Bob Jones University and McGraw Hill. Our supplemental textbooks are but not limited to Haughton Miffin, Glencoe and Silver Burdett and Ginn. We observe the NYS Board of Edu curriculum closely to ensure our momentum and we teach two levels above. We are NYS Board of Education recognized.

The schools are considered high achievement schools and they are academically stabled. The greater emphasis is placed on academic and that's what our schools are known for. Supplementary to academic hard work, our students enjoy a wholesome education ranging from The Arts, Aquatics, Music: sheet music and instrumental, dance, choir, theater, and our newly incorporated School Band. Fun Fridays are an extension of extensive Physical Education.

Elementary - Middle school students participate in the annual State Administered ELA, Math, Science exams. Our schools have enjoyed a 100% passing rate each year and we maintain that momentum and enjoy that status up to the last school year - (2011-2012).

We believe that all children are gifted, it is the way that we teach that brings out the gift in all our students. A 98 percent of our past students have been accepted in gifted programs and have received various recognition such as Principals' Awards for Highest Achievements or obtained scholarships to some of the best Ivy League colleges. Recently we were informed of one of our students who attended PS who was awarded an outstanding award and scholarship to Australia. This proves that we believe in what we do because this is now shown in the abilities of our past students. What we did then, today we have surpass those outstanding performance and our students are performing three times above past students success.
